    925 STERLING SILVER

If you feel your silver needs a refresh, rub it gently with a soft piece of cloth (like a microfiber glasses cleaning cloth). For extra oomph, try using silver polish to remove any tarnishing and dirt.

Don't hesitate to wear your sterling silver pieces constantly - the oils in your skin will actually prevent the jewelry from tarnishing! But when you do take them off (to shower or sleep), it's best to store each piece individually in an airtight plastic bag to keep out moisture.

    GOLD-PLATING

Wipe your gold plated jewelry after each use, using a soft cloth to remove any dirt or debris. You may also soak it for a few minutes in warm, soapy water and dry it with a soft cloth as needed (or a soft toothbrush to clean small cracks and crevices).

Gold plated jewelry will remain bright and shine for a longer period of time if you know how to clean and protect it from scratches or fading. Some people think that because it is just gold plated, it can be easily tarnished. However, if you pay close attention to this infographic, the way you clean and wash your pieces of jewelry matter a lot.

    CUBIC ZIRCONIA

Keep the high shine of cubic zirconia alive by giving it a gentle polishing treatment. Dip a soft toothbrush in a mixture of warm water and mild soap. Gently scrub away any dirt and build-up. Once you're done, rinse well and dry with a soft piece of cloth.

    JEWELRY WITH GEMSTONES

If your jewelry has precious or semi-precious stones in it, you're going to need to be a bit more careful. Avoiding soaking the jewelry and don't use water that's too warm, as both could loosen the glue that may be adhering the stones to the jewelry. Instead, use a soft cloth to wipe the pieces regularly. For a deep-clean, dampen a cotton swab in a solution of water and mild soap and use it to clear away any dirt or debris. Rinse and thoroughly dry the jewelry.
